<p><span>BRICK LANE</span><br /><span>A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.</span></p>
<p><span>The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.</span></p>
<p><span>As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.</span><br /><span>A really vibrant area with so much to do when you are not busy out there shopping.</span><br /></p>

The roof terrace bedroom is part of the 4th floor penthouse, flat in central Stratford, East London. The flat is situated in the up and coming area of Stratford, east London, most notable for being the main Olympic / Paralympic site for 2012. The flat is 10-15 minutes walk from the main site or less than 5 minutes via bus. Public transport links are excellent within the local area -there is a bus stop directly outside of the flat, whereby you can be taken directly to the local tube station / rail / bus station.
The flat itself consists of 2double bedrooms, a single room and dining room, modern fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, with power shower. The flat has gas central heating throughout and has the luxury of 2 double roof terraces on either side of the flat - one on the eastern side, parallel with the living room and the other, off the western side, adjoining the two double bedrooms.
Additionally, you can enjoy communal use of the building's roof terrace, which spans the entire roof of the building, whereby you can enjoy local views of the City, Olympic site and Canary wharf.
Local amenities include: several local shops, Supermarkets, take-aways and restaurants and most recently the new Westfield centre (containing hundreds of fashionable shops, restaurants, bars, a cinema, casino, bowling centre etc.) Also, there are several local parks and a sport centre with swimming pool and gym, within a few minutes walk from the flat.

Welcome to our lovely home a converted East End warehouse apartment – the former ex Spratt’s Dog Biscuits factory. The factory is circa late 1890’s and was the largest dog biscuit producer in the world! The building is within a secure gated redevelopment and our apartment, which you will share with us, is on the upper ground floor. If you are looking for a comfortable modern character filled place to stay then this is for you.
The double bedroom is fully furnished and has a TV/DVD/Freeview system and we offer Free WiFi. A complimentary fruit bowl as well as a choice of snacks will be waiting for you in your room. Continental breakfast and fresh towels will be provided during your stay. Please note the apartment is strictly no smoking.
We are very close to Canary Wharf where there are plenty of shops, supermarkets, a cinema and bars. Should you wish to keep up with your exercise routine there is a gym just 2 minutes walk away. Although I would imagine the amount of sightseeing that you will be do will keep you just as fit!
The apartment is just a few minutes walk to the nearest train station (Docklands Light Railway) and just 8 minutes to Canary Wharf. Central London (Oxford Street, Covent Garden, and Carnaby Street) shopping is also just a short tube journey away! The ExCeL Centre and London City Airport are just 20 minutes away by the DLR.
There are great walks to be taken as the Limehouse Cut (which leads to the River Lea) runs alongside the building. Turn left as you reach the canal steps (1 minute away) and you are walking towards the Limehouse Basin and Narrow Street which houses the infamous Gordon Ramsay Pub 'The Narrow' and the 'The Grapes' which was recently purchased by Sir Ian Mckellan or Gandalf as he’s known to his friends! Turn right at the steps and you can walk to the Olympic Stadium in around 25 minutes! On your walk to the Stadium you will pass the famous three Mills Studios which is the Largest TV/film studio in London. Films such as 28 Days/Weeks later, Sherlock Holmes II, Fantastic Mr Fox and literally hundreds more TV and films productions were/are made there. The canal side is also great for biking and getting around whilst viewing the great landscape that makes up East London. Boris (London’s Mayor) bikes can be hired within a five minute walk of the flat and be placed back at any other docking station around London.
Amongst the many fantastic things to do in London we would recommend visiting a few that are local to us:
Broadway market which is good for vintage clothing, cool shops and an array of eating places.
Spitalfields Market – if you love independent clothing and jewellery stalls and sampling international food then this is for you.
Brick Lane – very close to Spitalfields is this world renowned area for Asian Cuisine or as we say a good curry!
Columbia Road flower market – More vintage shopping and absolutely stunning flowers and plants.
If shopping is your focus then there is Europe’s largest indoor shopping centre, Westfield, just 6 minutes on the Docklands Light Railway.
